Travellers Experience Of Barbados

Barbados located near the Caribbean Sea and is the furthest east of all the islands in that vicinity and is renowned for its palm trees and white sandy beaches that slope gently into the islands calm and tranquil seas. It is said that the name ‘Barbados’ means bearded-ones although this has been swamped with controversy on where the name actually came from. Some think it was named after a fig tree’s long hanging roots and some advocate it is named after the foam spraying over the reefs in the structure of a beard.

A great way of checking the island out and seeing what it has to offer is by using the islands range of transport, and taking a helicopter flight is just one of the ways where you can see the islands shores and rural areas from a great view, a stunning part to your holiday.

On your holiday to the exotic island of Barbados scuba diving is a must. You will get the chance to investigate the underwater world and swim with tropical fishes and turtles, or snorkel on the many coral reefs that surround the island. On the other hand if you wish to keep your head above water there are many boat trips that will take you on a tour of the island, unwind and take great delight in the trip of a lifetime while you top up your tan. There are also night tours which are great for those romantic moments where you get the chance to see Barbados in lights and also land cruises that will take you by coach to the most exciting parts on the island.

If you prefer touring the island on your own and at your own spare time there are masses of rental car places and for just $5 you can get a temporary license that will let you drive legally in Barbados. With your own car you can find different parts of the island that aren’t explored with designated group trips.

Barbados in terms of food will give you an exceptional culinary experience with a wealth of foods to choose from that will arouse your taste buds. The chefs on the island use a diverse of authentic dishes and join together Mediterranean, Caribbean and Eastern flavours to create a variety of delicious cuisines to satisfy you. So whether it is a hearty breakfast on the beach or a classy and intimate evening banquet you are sure to enjoy.

Accommodation in Barbados comes in the form of apartments, hotels and guest houses and they all have the latest in modern technologies. If that’s not for you and your looking for slightly more exclusive and private accommodation there are many chances to hire villas around certain areas of the island, many of which are to be found on the sea front.
