The Story of a Pet Lover

Have you ever heard of Lassie, Beethoven and Benjie? Who didn’t? They were three of the most famous celebrities of their times. And yes, they are dogs. How about Babe? Oh yeah, that’s not the real name of the pig but I forgot the names and characters in that movie, except for the pig. Do you remember our winged friend, Paulie the parrot? If I try to mention all movies that had pets as stars, I will probably fill up this page without being able to discuss what I wanted to say. We see different pets becoming famous in tinsel town, in the same way that they’ve become famous through out history.

Personally, I like dogs. I actually have 10 of them at home but only one has a breed – a rottweiler. Anyway, her name’s Perky because as her name suggests, she is very perky, always moving from one room to another, climbing chairs and stairs. I remember when she was younger; I put her on top of a chair because I wanted to make her stop pacing the room. You know what she did? She jumped down and her knee was broken. I wanted to bring her to a vet but Perky didn’t like traveling so I ended up taking care of her at home. After a few day, I noticed she wasn’t eating her food. So I tried to cook for her, but she still wouldn’t budge. My friend who is a certified pet lover told me to check her temperature and I found out that she had fever. I remember crying all the way to the vet because I was so afraid she would die. It wasn’t because she was very expensive when I bought her from the pet shop; it was more of the fact that I treated her like my baby. I slept with her beside me. I bathed her. I fed her and gave her vitamins every day. I was afraid for her to die because I knew I was going to miss her.

Now I know a lot of people love their pets a lot. I found this site made in Indonesia. I read that this is the only bilingual site in the country. Anyway, this site buys and sells dogs, cats, and other exotic pets at good prices. I have always wanted to have a toy dog, so being the pet lover that I am, I just had to look. I see this cute West Highland white terrier and I fell in love immediately. You see, I had a terrier when I was younger, but it died because I failed to have it neutered and it got pregnant. I guess it was too small to bear puppies. I called her Kitty. Her name from a private joke I shared with my sisters. My youngest sister couldn’t distinguish a cat from Kitty, and she called my terrier Kitty so the name stuck.

Anyway, I found out that there many international forums for pet lovers like me. It’s probably due to our similar liking for dogs and pets in general that made us attracted with each other. I know some of my friends in these forums come from other countries and there are several times I hear breeds of dogs I have never seen before. We exchange ideas on how to better take care of our pets. Not only am I happy because I get to build lasting friendships with people of different nationalities, I know that through their advice, I am being a better pet owner and my pets love me even more.
