Event planners and Event coordinators are different from party planners in that event planners take up large scale specialized events like product launch, business meetings, big marriages, where as party planners typically go for small range parties and events such as birthday parties, get togethers, anniversaries, corporate holidays and picnics. Each is different in terms of the size of the occasion and companies maintain different teams for different events. Event planners and coordinators are professionals in the business who pretty well know how to plan an event without missing even a small detail. One can be sure of making the event a success once it is in the hands of a professional and experienced event planner.
Event planners and coordinators are in great demand now a days as large organizations and companies hire them to take care of any special event or occasion they have. Sometimes the hosts lack the experience of managing such a huge event and sometimes might be overwhelmed by the pressure the additional responsibility brings along. Generally event planners know before hand what it is that the customer wants or what is going to be asked from them. Party planners are different in the sense that they can be quite informal most of the times and most popular among them are parties within a friends circle where a theme is selected for each party and the themes can be pretty awkward to even understand what the customer actually wants.
Event planners typically handle huge events which are mostly official in nature and may take a number of days to just plan for the event. The list of items an event planner has to take care of is pretty big and therefore he has to careful about the cost involved. He has to take care of the catering services, transportation and logistics, accommodation, rental equipments, entertainment facilities, water and electricity facilities, pre and post event planning, supply chain of all the items, time management during the event, financial management, hiring the right people for the event. Even though he plans everything, there always is a scope for an emergency and it is during these times the experience of an event planner comes handy. He must show knack in pulling out of the emergency or an urgent situation with aplomb. Chores which seem difficult and daunting for the hosts are ones which the event planners do on a daily basis. They manage the event in a perfectly organized way, there by meeting the needs of host.
The hosts should know the methods of selecting the right event planner for their event. Many companies world wide provide event planners. Hosts mostly prefer local event planners and coordinators because they know very well about the local suppliers, local caterers, local transporters, local musicians, local food and taste, and more importantly the local methodology of organizing an event. The hosts might have attended a party earlier where they got the taste of the organizing manners of an event planner and may go for such an event planner for their own event in the future.
Today the event planning business is worth $800 billion. Event planners can be available in every city. As USA contains more cities, nearly 600 different cities are covered by event planners from different companies in the US and neighboring Canada. One can find a suitable planner within their city and discuss with them for a possible tie-up. Every planner has links with the local caterers, local vendors, rental service providers and suppliers. They form a network of their own to facilitate the customer. Planners come up with an idea of their own and discuss it with you till an attractive theme is found out. Planners also do take care of your budget limits so that everything you planned gets done within the budget. Once the event is done with, the planner will take care of all the loose ends like cleaning up the venue, paying the rentals and staff, sending off all the equipment back. Receiving a feedback from the customer is vital for any event or a party planner. How satisfied is the customer is a bench mark for the planner and his future growth.
