There is nothing like living in the small cities. Small cities exist for various reasons, such as, employment shortage, lack of education facility and so on; however, there are so many ways, in which a small city life can be far more satisfying, fulfilling and pleasurable than a large city life. Unfortunately, it has been observed that small towns are vanishing these days. For political, economical and social reasons, small cities are not surviving. It is uttermost important that we do the necessary that is needed to help the small cities survive.

For a start, imagine a wedding in a small city, the whole town will be aware of the wedding and it will be celebrated by everyone, as if, they all were a part of one big happy family. Where as, in a large city, your own neighbor may not even know or care if someone next door was getting married.

Community events play a very important role in helping small cities to survive. These events create bond among the people. The friendships that you form in a small city are usually those that are long lasting and can be termed friendship in the true sense, since the friendship you form there is not because of your wealth or your social standing, instead, it is because of who you are as a person and how you are as a person. A friend in a small city is likely to be there for you at all times. Such friends do exist in a large city, however, you cannot expect someone to be by your side at all times, since, they too will most likely be entangled in their own personal problems.

There are plenty of advantages of living in a smaller city too. The accommodation expense in a small city is far less than that of in a larger city. An amount that will allow you to buy you a small, one bedroom, apartment in a large city, will allow you to buy a spacious house in smaller city. An apartment may be suitable for a young couple, but, a house is the likely choice, if you are looking to start a family, since, everyone is going to need a room of their own. From that point of view, life in a small city is far more advantageous than of that in a larger city. Life in a small city is also convenient because it is easier to establish a business in a small city, due to the fact that there is a lot less competition in smaller cities. People often stretch to larger cities to expand their business and build further contacts. However, in the long run, the small city contacts are the ones that prove most handy.

People who live in smaller cities also lead very peaceful lives, as they are far away from the stress of the larger cities, the running around and the overall tension of keeping pace with the large city life. In a smaller city, the pace of life is a lot slower and relaxed, which is why, people tend to lead far less complicated lives and as a result, healthier lives. It is because of this that people who live in smaller cities have longer life spans.
