How To Remove Your Pension Worries - For Good...

To most of us, retirement was that much sought after reward of peaceful tranquillity that we were to be automatically rewarded after a long, hard life of toiling for companies or government-controlled organizations.

In reality these days, nothing could be further from the truth.

Imagine getting up one morning in the middle of winter, bus pass in one hand, and pension book in the other, to the grim reality that instead of having a regular monthly income that just about covered your outgoings, that income had been replaced by the very generous handout from the State laughingly called a pension.

Wow, £85 per week for a single person, and about £120 for a couple. Well, at least the house was paid for so there is no rent or mortgage outgoings.

With the average earnings in the UK being around £20,000, and with both of you working, it was amazing how you always managed to spend just a little more than your joint incomes.

But of course, the Government has announced it will re-introduce a sort of earnings related pension - but not until at least 2012.

Then of course, there is the question of the ownership of the house. What were your plans here? Pass it on to your children, or sell it and move into rented accommodation?

Well, if you were planning on keeping it, for whatever reason, you had better make sure you remain fit and healthy (both of you) as a report released earlier this year showed that over 50% of us will have to sell your family home just to meet horrendously high home care costs, as the local authorities will no longer be able to afford to pay for this support.

So how have we got ourselves as a society into this situation?

The secret can be found in the whole manner in which we are taught right from an early age, from our parents and peers, and society as a whole. We are taught and encouraged to work for money, not how to make money work for us.

The whole fabric of our society is founded on the principle that we should do well in school, get really good qualifications, and then go and get a job working for somebody else's company, selling our time in exchange for money.

Working for money, and not making money work for us!

Now, to many people, this is the established status quo, and many millions will continue to act in this manner. Let's face it, the whole fabric of society still relies on this structure, and to those that break out of this mould, you are going to want people to do jobs a and tasks for you - or even become employees in Your enterprises.

However, for a growing percentage of people, the 'status quo' is not enough. You want more, you know you are capable of more, so you are going to seek an escape route to a more full and rewarding lifestyle.

It takes tremendous courage to start thinking 'out of your box', and many people just never get past the first stumbling block. This major hurdle that has to be overcome is letting your brain think that what you want to do is possible.

Unless you start to 'Think like a rich person' then you will always remain a slave to money, to be exploited by those who know 'The Secret'.

Too many people think that they could never achieve what say Sir Richard Branson has achieved. Why? Was he born rich, did he not make any mistakes in his life? You bet he made mistakes, but did he roll over and die at the first signs of adversity? Did he say, 'Well, if British Airways are opposing me, then that's it - back to the factory job tomorrow?'

No. He knew in his mind he could and would win, so he carried on, and now - look at the result.

Most people don't realise that many of the 'rich and famous' were not born wealthy, many of them are college drop outs (Bill Gates for instance), and many of them have been bankrupt.

But did that stop Donald Trump or Stephen Pierce?

Not at all. And if you have any ambitions at all of breaking out of the present stranglehold that society has placed round your neck, you must take the time to learn and study what these 'Society Icons' have achieved, what traumas they went through, and how they made it to the wonderful lifestyles they now so obviously enjoy.

If you could have one, or perhaps two of these rich and famous (and sometimes not so famous) people, share their innermost secrets with you as to how they made it to fame, and you got a different view every month, then the law of averages will tell you that after a short while, you will be emulating them and your lifestyle will be transformed out of all proportion to your present circumstances.

Then, what's to stop you retiring tomorrow, telling your boss you can't afford to work there any more, and move on to a life of financial independence, doing what you like, when you like, and with whom you like.

And as for pensions ... what pensions...?
