The first thing to remember about the vending business is the fact that it is not a get rich quick idea. You will need to work at it to make it a success. While you will not be working as many hours, you will still need to be diligent and make sure your machines are stocked and in good order. Here are a few facts you should know about the vending business.

• The larger vending companies have already negotiated with retailers to take 25% of their profits from vending machines in their business. You can go in and offer them up to 40% of the profits, this should help you get a foot in the door. Both of you want to make a decent profit and when you sweeten the deal you may be the chosen one.

• Every business desires to make money without doing anything. Everyone uses vending machines, and by placing your machine with a business they will be getting money for doing nothing.

• Never pressure the retailer, they will most likely not accept your vending deal. Make several suggestions about the type of vending machines that would work well in their store. Once you have discussed what machines would work well for them, leave a flyer with the product options and leave it to them.

• There are other businesses that need your vending machines. Offices of any type, garages, bars, small grocery stores, indoor flea markets, and just about anywhere people frequent, have a need for your vending machines.

You want the owner to see what you can do for them and their business without pressure. It should be their idea, you simply need to plant the thought in their mind and they will do the rest. There are other tips to help you succeed in the vending business.

• If you do run into someone who gets angry, send them a letter of apology and let them know you did not mean to be too pushy, or whatever you think they were mad about. You will make points with this person and you may just gain a vending contract.

• Always say what you mean, and do what you say. This is the best advice anyone can follow when you are in the vending business. You must remain honest and you need to be available when a location is trying to reach you.

There are many options when it comes to the vending machine business. The smaller machines will dispense– candy, gum, toys, nuts or just about anything that consumers use. The larger machines dispense snacks, soda, water, hot and cold foods, coffee and tea, milk, hygiene products, and many other types of products.
