If you've ever been working with files in your software program and suddenly realized the data changed in a way you hadn't planned, it is often due to an error in data entry, coding or even programming files. Even the most organized computer user will eventually find themselves in a situation where there are duplicate files of different dates on the computer. There can be extremely unwelcome results when editing or additions are done to an older file. Some software programs such as Excel for example, have compare features built right into the programming.
