The five steps below will help ensure that you can now bid the right price and not have to overpay on a hotel reservation.

The first thing to do is to research the cost of hotels in the same area for the dates that you are looking for. Looking at a site like hotwire could give you a consolidated list and then you can look the website of the hotel to be able to get a better deal. Also, compare other hotel and travel related sites to get a more comprehensive picture of what rates are out there. Sometimes you can find great prices at hotels in the least expected sites.

The second thing to do is to figure out how many bids you can make. On web sites like Priceline you can use the Instant Re-bidding Technique to find out how many bids you can make without having to wait the twenty four hour window. This tends to be a very important step especially on Priceline, so it would be highly recommended that this technique is learned.
