A overview of one of the up-to-the-minute PSP console handheld games - God of War : Chains of Olympus

Chains of Olympus sees the cruel god-like Kratos character as the centre piece of the story. Positioned as a prequel to the God of War II for the PS2, the game is set at the midpoint thru Kratos' ten year tenure to the Gods. Favorably appreciated equally by fans and critics for the game's superb graphics and control system, the game in no way delivers a lifeless moment right through its edgy story line.

Gameplay :
In God of War, Kratos, after being conned into murdering his wife and child pledges himself to the service of the gods for years to come. The God of War series has Kratos, already halfway thru his service, being directed to the traditional city of Attica, to help look after the town from the invading Persian military. Upon defeating the Persian King, the sun suddenly goes down. With the entire planet dropped into night and the gods ending up powerless, Kratos has got to now set out on a path to restore Helios back to the heavens to carry out his promise to the gods. to succeed he must now tackle some of the most scary creatures of Greek mythology and then was faced with the vast dilemma of choosing between his own deliverance and saving the whole traditional world from annihilation.

The game is a third person action quest with fights, with the contestant being able to play a part the leading role, Kratos. The game features four boss fights in all : the basilisk, Charon, Persephone and the Persian king. Not very much has changed for the Playstation portable version of the popular God of War series. Kratos still has his fundamental weapons and collects scarlet orbs to power up his abilities.

- Exclusive and savage weapons including wizardry spells, shields and the trademark Blades of Chaos.
- Award winning Franchise : The game received several awards plus the best game of the year 2008 by diehard GameFAN. The game received a near perfect score from all of the main review websites.

Verdict :
Flouting the widely known blueprint of games for handheld consoles, Ready at Dawn has managed to create a game with breathtaking graphics and a fantastic story. Though the missing multiplayer mode could irritate some, the game still manages to impress because of the diverse added features like the camera angles and built in puzzles. The game is an absolute must buy for any Psp console fanatic.
